Customers & Pools

Import your customer list from a CSV

Moving from another system or a spreadsheet? Paste or upload a CSV and WaterMark builds your customers and pools in one pass, with a preview and duplicate protection before anything is saved.

Where: Manage (top bar) -> Import customers (CSV) - also the 'Import CSV' button on an empty Customers list

  1. Open Manage and choose 'Import customers (CSV)' (or click Import CSV when your customer list is empty).
  2. Click 'Download CSV template' to see the exact columns, or export from ServiceTitan, Skimmer, or any spreadsheet - common column names are matched automatically.
  3. Choose your .csv file or paste the rows into the box. Only a name column is required; include active=false for a former customer you need to retain without routing.
  4. Include a service_frequency column (weekly / biweekly / monthly) so each pool keeps its real cadence.
  5. Click 'Preview' and review the list: NEW rows import, INACTIVE rows are retained without automatic service, and DUP rows (matched by exact customer name) are skipped so nothing doubles.
  6. Click 'Import' to finish. If any pools came in without a service day, click 'Choose route day' to put them on the schedule.
Good to know
  • The preview flags unrecognized columns so you can rename headers and re-upload - the rest still imports fine.
  • After customers, use the buttons in the import window to bring over Equipment, Water-test history, and Open balances (AR) - no QuickBooks needed.
  • On the free Starter plan an import that exceeds your customer cap is rejected as a whole batch, not partially - trim the file or upgrade first.
