The WaterMark field app (WaterMark Pool Service) is on the App Store and Google Play (store listings published by PC Brain LLC, our app-store publisher). WaterMark also has a Capterra-verified product profile · no reviews yet - the profile is new, and its product data was verified by Capterra’s research team.

The problem

Field techs hate their software.

The big enterprise platforms were designed at a desk, for a desk. Then shrunk onto a phone and handed to someone standing in a wet backyard. It shows.

You can't read it outside

Bright screens, tiny text built for tablets. Useless in direct sun, which is where pool work happens.

Built for calendars, not routes

Pool work is a route. Most platforms schedule it like office appointments, ignoring drive time and stop order.

No water chemistry

No dosing math. No LSI. No history. The single most important part of the job, and the app does nothing for it.

A dozen taps per job

Screens that don't connect. No memory of where you were. Intense focus required for what should be muscle memory.

No idea who was here last

You arrive blind. No last reading, no last dose, no note from the tech before you.

Takes a year to learn

Onboarding a new tech means weeks of frustration before they're productive on the app alone.

The fix

Everything the big platforms do. A fraction of the thinking.

The chemistry a great tech does in their head

Log your readings, get a calculated dose. WaterMark works the chemical amount from the pool's volume and caps it at a maximum this app will recommend in one visit, computes the Langelier Saturation Index, scores water balance, and tells you straight when there's no chemical fix and you need to dilute. And it refuses to guess: a parameter you didn't test comes back no reading logged (never a dose invented to fill the gap), and the LSI simply won't compute at all unless pH, water temperature, calcium hardness and alkalinity are all on the sheet. Most software would rather show you a confident wrong number than an honest blank. The math a great tech does in their head: done instantly, every time, and it tells you when a dose hit its safety cap instead of pretending it reached target.

Engineered to be read in direct sun

The bold high-contrast field theme is not a setting you flip. Automated tests enforce its contrast, and the app runs your screen at full brightness the moment you're on a job, then hands your brightness back when you leave. Big glove-friendly targets for wet hands. Readable at 2pm in July, because that's the whole point.

Route-first, not calendar

Your stops, in order, one tap to navigate. The next job is always obvious. The route is the home screen.

Last visit, front and center

Arrive and instantly see who serviced it last, their readings, what they added, and their notes. Never walk in blind.

One job, one path

Tap Done on any stop to jump straight to its close-out, or run it end to end: auto-arrive when you pull up (on once you approve location; background arrival is a separate opt-in, off by default), last visit’s readings shown as a reference beside every empty field, one tap for "same as last visit" dosing, photos, guided close-out. Then Next stop moves you along on its own. One job in progress at a time, so a day never tangles.

An office your team runs without a training course

Sign up, confirm your email, and you're looking at a working route in about 30 seconds - or skip all of it and load a full sample company. Drag-and-drop route manager, one-click bulk reschedule when a storm eats a day, and a Command Center that only surfaces confirmed signals that actually need you. Live progress by tech, full service history, every pool's chemistry trend.

Works with no signal

Log the service visit offline (readings, photos, checklist, signature, skips and reschedules), and it syncs the moment you're back in range. Backyards don't always have bars.

The money side, handled

Owner-enabled automatic late fees, balance-forward statements, and prepay packages that draw down visit by visit. You clean pools; WaterMark keeps every balance straight to the penny. Free two-way QuickBooks sync included: invoices and payments flow both directions automatically. Every plan includes a no-login homeowner portal where your customers see their visit status and history. Homeowner card payments and AutoPay are live on Stripe Connect: save a card once, eligible visits collect automatically, a decline falls into a safe retry-and-dunning flow, and every company banks its own money at Stripe’s standard rates with zero WaterMark markup.

Your website feeds your pipeline

Every plan includes a booking page that captures prospects straight into your lead pipeline, with capacity-gated self-scheduling, spam protection, and referral links that attribute the neighbor who sent them. No forms plugin required, no duct tape. And if you run Zapier or Make, WaterMark plugs in natively with free webhooks.

Why WaterMark exists

Built for the way pool service actually works.

WaterMark was designed in the field, for pool companies. Not adapted from a generic trades platform.

Pool-native chemistry

LSI, dosing, and water history on every plan. Not an add-on, and not missing.

Honest, flat pricing

Per seat with unlimited customers and locations. No per-pool penalty for growing.

Your data stays yours

Export your own data instantly, or request deletion anytime, and pull it live over a free REST API + webhooks, included on every plan. Many pool platforms gate API access behind higher tiers or charge for it. Verify each vendor's current pricing; here it's free for everyone. API docs

The moat

Real dosing. Real chemistry.

Here's what WaterMark's live engine returns for a 35,000-gallon chlorine pool that's out of balance. Instantly, on the spot.

WATER SCORE
17/100
LSI BALANCE
+0.83 · scaling

Free Chlorine low (0.8) → Add 136 oz Liquid Chlorine (12.5%) to reach about 4.4 ppm (target scales with CYA 38)

pH high (7.9) & Total Alkalinity high (140) → Add 112 oz Muriatic Acid (31%), slowly (the maximum this app will recommend in one visit for this pool, not enough to reach target; add it, retest, and repeat next visit. One dose lowers both; aerate afterward to bring pH back into range.)

Calcium Hardness high (420) → dilution needed, no chemical fix

Check it yourself

Don't take the claim. Open the demo and look.

The live demo drops you into a working pool company: no signup, no email. Four things to open once you're in:

First screen · Operations alerts

Missed stops, failed texts, and missing water tests: flagged, not hidden. Software that admits what's missing is software you can trust with your book.

Money · Chemical Cost by Pool

Chemical spend per pool: the money-pit pool surfaces on its own. You stop finding out at the end of the season which account ate the margin.

Money · Profit by route

Route profit with labor and chemicals already subtracted, a number you only get when the software actually knows what a dose costs.

Customers · Recent Service

Find this morning's strip-only test in the service feed: FC has a number, and pH reads a dash: a parameter nobody tested shows a dash, never an invented number. The visit with no test at all isn't padded with one either; it's flagged in Operations alerts.

Said plainly, because it cuts against us: Skimmer meters per serviced location and includes unlimited technicians, so a company running many techs across relatively few pools can pay less there than here. Pool companies are usually the other shape, which is why WaterMark meters the smaller number. Run your own numbers before you switch.

Comparison reflects each vendor's publicly described pricing model and feature presence as of 2026; ServiceTitan does not publish pricing, while Skimmer and Pool Brain publish theirs. The part nobody else will tell you

Why the big platforms can't just match this.

Our low, honest price isn't a launch promo we'll yank later. It's built into how WaterMark is made. The incumbents' revenue is built to feed hundreds of employees, so their pricing has to work the same way. Here's what that looks like on their invoice versus ours.

No per-pool metering

Popular pool platforms bill by the pool or by the tier, so your software bill climbs every time you win an account. WaterMark is a flat plan: grow to 400 pools and pay the same as at 40. We don't tax you for growing.

No payment markups

Some tools quietly add a slice on top of card processing: an extra fee on AutoPay, a markup over standard rates. WaterMark's card processing adds zero markup, straight Stripe rates. The money your customers pay is your money.

No fees to start, no contract to leave

Activation fees, five-figure implementations, and multi-year terms are normal in this space. WaterMark is $0 to onboard and month-to-month, and your data is yours: export it instantly, or request deletion, anytime. Leaving is a feature, not a fight.

Built for the field, not the boardroom

Their apps were made for an office worker at a desk, then shrunk onto a phone. WaterMark was built field-first (a real chemistry engine, offline-first, sun-readable) on every plan, including free. You shouldn't need the most tech-savvy person in the office just to run your software.

A platform whose revenue depends on per-seat metering, onboarding fees, and payment markups can't match this without unwinding how it makes money. We keep our team small and our software sharp on purpose, so we can price it like this, and mean it.

Comparisons reflect competitors' publicly published pricing and terms as of 2026. Fees and policies change. Verify current details with each vendor before deciding.

Your data is safe here

Built to protect your business, and your customers.

Your customer list, your saved cards, your money data. We treat all of it the way we'd want ours treated: locked down, private to you, and always yours to take with you.

Encrypted in transit and at rest

TLS protects data in transit. Managed Postgres keeps business records on durable storage with daily backups and point-in-time recovery, with field-level encryption for stored credentials.

Walled off from everyone else

Your company's data is isolated from every other company on WaterMark. No one else can see your customers, routes, or numbers. Ever.

Card numbers never touch us

Payments run on Stripe, a certified payments leader. Full card numbers go straight to Stripe and are never stored on WaterMark's servers.

You hold the keys

Turn on two-factor login, export your data instantly or request deletion anytime, and rest easy on automatic off-site backups. Your data is yours.

Fine print

The exact fee. We pass you the exact fee Stripe charged on each payment. Most online card charges are 2.9% + 30¢. Stripe charges more for some cards, such as international cards and American Express, and when it does you see Stripe’s real number, not an estimate. Stripe sets these rates for every business that takes cards. We do not add a cent.

Refunds. When you refund a payment, Stripe keeps the processing fee it already charged on the original charge. That is Stripe’s rule for every merchant, not ours. We pass that kept fee to you at cost, so a refunded payment costs you a little more than it collected.

Disputes. If a homeowner disputes a payment, Stripe charges us a $15 dispute fee and we pass it to you at cost, $15 exactly, the day it happens. Stripe does not give that $15 back to anyone, even when you win. If a dispute is fought on your behalf, Stripe charges a second $15 and returns it when you win, and we return it to you on the same rail we charged it. Stripe’s dispute fee as of September 2026.

Email over your plan. Your plan includes 5,000 emails a month, plus 2,500 for each technician beyond the two the plan includes. A thousand-pool company sends about 200 a day, so a normal month has no email line at all. Past the allowance you see one line, and it is charged at exactly what our email provider charges us for the same messages: $0.90 per additional 1,000, at cost, no markup. Whole blocks of 1,000 only, so a partial block is free. Resend’s price as of September 2026.

Straight answers

The questions owners actually ask.

Every answer here is already published somewhere you can check it: the Terms, the security page, or the full comparison. Nothing on this list is new.

Is the free Starter plan really free?

Yes. The Starter plan is $0/mo for one tech and up to 50 customers. No credit card to sign up and no time limit. It includes the offline field app, chemistry and dosing, invoicing, and emailed customer recaps. Customer texting and the AI features start on a paid plan.

Do I need a demo call or a contract?

Neither. There is no demo call to book, no contract and no setup fee. Every plan is month to month, and cancellation is a button in your own account, not a phone call. Sign up, confirm your email, add one customer, and you are looking at a working route in about 30 seconds.

What happens when I add a tech?

The standard plan is $59/mo with two technician seats included, and each additional seat is $20/mo. Customers and pools stay unlimited either way: grow to 400 pools and pay the same flat price as at 40.

Does it work with no signal?

Yes, by design. Arrivals, readings, photos, completions, and even the customer texts and recap queue on the phone and replay exactly once when signal returns. The customer records cached for offline use are stored encrypted.

Will it invent a dose if I skip a reading?

No. A parameter you did not test comes back as no reading logged, never a dose invented to fill the gap, and the LSI will not compute at all unless pH, water temperature, calcium hardness and alkalinity are all on the sheet. When a dose hits its safety cap it says so, instead of pretending it reached target.

Can my Spanish-speaking techs use it?

Yes. The field app's screens, service checklists, and on-device chemical dosing guidance carry Spanish at full parity with English, and dosing keeps the same measured numbers, units and chemical names in either language. The office dashboard is English today.

How do I get my customer list in, and back out?

Import it from a CSV in minutes, free on every plan. A Skimmer-preset import maps their export directly, previews every row first and flags the bad ones before anything is written, then loads the clean rows and names every row it refused. Your data exports back out any time, on any plan, and you can request deletion whenever you want.

Where does my card data live?

With Stripe. Card numbers are entered on Stripe's hosted pages and never touch or rest on WaterMark's servers. Every company banks its own money through its own Stripe account, at Stripe's standard rates with zero WaterMark markup.

The long form of all of it: the Terms, the security page, and the full comparison.
