Why WaterMark
Built to run a pool company — not every trade.
An honest, factual look at how WaterMark compares to the tools pool companies actually evaluate. We’ll tell you where we win — and where the others do too.
What sets WaterMark apart
Pool-native, by design.
These aren’t add-ons or paid tiers. They’re what WaterMark is.
Water chemistry, included
Readings, the Langelier Saturation Index, and exact dosing are built in on every plan — not paywalled to a higher tier, and not missing entirely the way general field-service tools leave it.
Flat, per-seat pricing
$59 standard including 2 techs, then $20 per added tech — with unlimited customers and locations. You’re never charged more for winning another pool.
One app, made for the field
One platform with purpose-built office web and field mobile experiences, dark and high-contrast for outdoor use, with offline logging that syncs when you’re back in range. The homeowner portal is included at no extra charge.

Straight talk
Where the others are strong.
No tool is best at everything. Here’s our honest read.
Fair credit where it’s due
ServiceTitan offers the broadest, deepest feature set across many trades — if you run HVAC, plumbing, and electrical alongside pools, that breadth is real.
Skimmer has a large, established customer base, a sizable support team, and a strong reputation in the pool industry. That track record matters, and we respect it.
Pool Brain is pool-native with capable chemistry and is well regarded among larger operators.
What WaterMark offers isn’t “more of everything.” It’s a tool purpose-built for pool service — chemistry on every plan, flat per-seat pricing that doesn’t penalize growth, one field-ready app, and your data always yours to export or delete. If that’s the fit you’re after, try it free and decide for yourself.
Switching?
Coming from another platform?
All good software — here’s the structural difference, honestly stated. Import your customer CSV in minutes on any plan.
Switching from Skimmer?
Skimmer works well and its track record is real. The structural difference is what gets counted. Skimmer meters per serviced location — as published on their own pricing page on 25 July 2026, $49/mo covering 49 locations, and above that the Scaling Up plan is $98/mo base plus $2 per additional location. A one-truck route of 200 pools bills about $400/mo on that math; 600 pools bills about $1,200/mo. WaterMark counts techs instead: flat $59/mo standard with 2 techs included, then $20 per added tech, the same at 400 pools as at 40 — month to month.
The honest flip side: Skimmer includes unlimited technicians; we charge $20 per tech past the first two. If you run many techs across relatively few pools, their math beats ours. Pool companies are usually the other shape — pools outnumber techs by a wide margin — which is exactly why we meter the smaller number. Run your own numbers before you switch.
Switching from Jobber?
Jobber is a strong generalist. Two things it structurally can’t do for a pool company: it doesn’t speak water (no LSI, no dosing from readings), and it isn’t pool-priced. WaterMark is chemistry-native on every plan, and card processing is built on Stripe Connect so each company will bank its own homeowner money — that payout rail is built but not yet switched on.
Switching from Pool Brain?
Pool Brain’s office side earns its reputation, and it’s genuinely pool-native. Differences to weigh: WaterMark’s money rails (no-login homeowner portal, free two-way QuickBooks sync, and AutoPay with honest dunning — card collection switches on at public launch) and pricing with no base fee stacked on top — Pool Brain stacks a base fee on top of a per-technician charge — as published on their own pricing page on 25 July 2026, $50/mo for unlimited office users plus $65 per technician (their own five-tech example totals $375/mo). That means the smallest companies start highest: one tech runs about $115/mo before you have serviced a single pool. WaterMark includes 2 techs in the flat $59 standard plan, so a solo or two-tech company pays one price — and a one-truck operator under 50 customers pays nothing at all on the free Starter plan.
Looked at ServiceTitan?
ServiceTitan’s breadth across many trades is real. It’s also implementation-led — onboarding is a project with a project’s cost and timeline. WaterMark is self-serve the same day, $0 onboarding, month to month, and priced for a pool company rather than a multi-trade enterprise.
Switching from Housecall Pro?
HCP is a big, capable generalist. WaterMark’s difference is the honesty architecture: one flat price with no add-on ladder, cancellation is a button in your own account, and the app can’t claim it did something it didn’t. Plus real chemistry, which no generalist carries.
Switching from GorillaDesk?
GorillaDesk is good software built for pest routes. It doesn’t know your water — no LSI, no dosing, no readings-driven flags. That gap is literally why WaterMark exists: chemistry-native on every plan, with an offline-first field app for backyards with no signal.

How these comparisons are supported
We compare on objective feature presence and each competitor’s own published pricing model. Competitor offerings change — figures and feature availability are current as of 2026 and may vary by plan, configuration, and reseller. If you spot anything that’s out of date, email support@watermarkapp.online and we’ll correct it.
- Pricing models reflect each vendor’s publicly described structure: ServiceTitan is quoted per technician; Skimmer publishes per-serviced-location pricing; Pool Brain publishes a monthly base fee plus per-technician pricing. WaterMark is $59/mo standard, including 2 techs plus $20 per additional tech, with unlimited customers and locations.
- Water chemistry / LSI: WaterMark includes pool water chemistry, LSI, and dosing on every plan. General multi-trade field-service platforms such as ServiceTitan are not pool-specific (verify current capabilities). Skimmer offers chemistry and LSI per its published plans (see their pricing). Pool Brain includes chemistry.
- In-app card payments: built into WaterMark and switching on at public launch. Other vendors offer card payments as well — see each vendor’s current details for specifics.
- Offline field chemistry: WaterMark, Skimmer, ServiceTitan, and Pool Brain each present a single platform with a field mobile app and an office web experience. WaterMark’s field app runs its full chemistry, LSI, and dosing engine on-device, so it keeps working in a no-signal backyard and skips any parameter you did not measure rather than inventing one — verify each vendor’s current offline behavior.
- Contracts: WaterMark requires no long-term contract and can be cancelled anytime. Term agreements are common for enterprise field-service platforms such as ServiceTitan — verify current terms. Skimmer does not advertise a long-term contract requirement on its site — verify current terms.
- Data export & deletion: WaterMark provides self-service export and deletion of your own data in-product. Handling of such requests varies by other vendors — check each vendor.
