Getting Started
Your free trial, the free plan, and going live
WaterMark is free to try with no card, and there's a genuinely free forever "Starter" plan for very small operations. When you're ready to run your real business on it, you upgrade to the paid plan and connect the pieces that get you paid. Nothing about your trial deletes your data.
Where: Sidebar "Trial - N days left" badge, or Manage -> Money -> Billing & plan
- Watch the trial clock: while you're on a trial, a "Trial - N days left" badge rides the left sidebar on every screen (it turns amber at 7 days, red at 2).
- Click that badge any time to open Billing & plan and see your plan, price, and what's included.
- On the free Starter plan you'll see your usage against its customer and team-member caps - no charge and no card required.
- When you're ready to grow past the caps or keep everything after a trial, click Upgrade / Start subscription in Billing & plan.
- To settle up card payments, connect Stripe payouts (see "connect payouts") so money lands in your bank.
- If you use QuickBooks Online, connect it from the QuickBooks panel to sync invoices and payments - QuickBooks is the live, recommended accounting path.
Good to know
- The paid plan is per-crew: a base price includes your first techs and you only pay for active techs beyond that. There's no long contract.
- Your customers, routes, and history are safe whether you stay on Starter, upgrade, or let a trial lapse - going live doesn't wipe anything.
- Xero is available as an optional paid accounting add-on, but it stays off until you enable it with keys. QuickBooks Online is the built-in, recommended path.
