Choose income accounts for QuickBooks and Xero
Use the Income accounts panel to choose where invoice lines land in a connected QuickBooks or Xero company. Set a default first, then add a category or catalog-item override only when that work needs a different income account.
Where: Money tab -> Income accounts panel
- Open the Money tab and scroll to Income accounts. Connect QuickBooks or Xero first; the panel shows a separate section for each connected provider.
- Choose the Default income account. Work without a saved override uses this account.
- Use a category selector when every catalog item in that category should use the same income account.
- Expand Per-item overrides and choose an account for any single active catalog item that should not use its category or the default.
- Click Save QuickBooks mapping or Save Xero mapping for the provider you changed. The status beside the button confirms when the save finishes.
Good to know
- An owner or manager can change these mappings. Other office users can read the panel but cannot save changes.
- If a saved account says Not found, WaterMark leaves the mapping on the record and uses the provider default until you choose an account that is available again.
- When both providers are connected, save each provider's mapping separately.
