Inventory & Trucks

Stock inventory by truck instead of one company total

If your company stocks each truck, turn on per-truck inventory. Then a part a tech uses on a job automatically comes off that tech's truck, and you can see on-hand for every truck and the shop side by side. It's off by default.

Where: Dashboard -> Trucks & inventory locations panel

  1. Find the "Trucks & inventory locations" panel on your dashboard and click "Turn on per-truck inventory." Confirm when asked - your existing stock total is never lost.
  2. Click "+ Add truck." Give it a name (e.g. Truck 3 - Mike), an optional ID (plate, VIN, or your own number), and pick the regular driver from your technician list. Save.
  3. Repeat for each truck. The tech you set as regular driver is whose truck a job's parts deduct from.
  4. Use "Receive stock" to load parts onto a truck or the shop from a delivery or sign-out sheet: pick the location, add item + quantity lines, and click Receive.
  5. Use "Transfer" to move stock between the shop and a truck - your company total doesn't change.
  6. Read the "On hand by location" table to see each item's count per truck and shop, with a red ⚠ on anything low.
Good to know
  • Only turn this on if you actually stock trucks this way - for one shared supply, the single company total is simpler.
  • Turning it back off returns you to one company-wide total but keeps your per-truck breakdown in case you switch back.
  • Removing a truck keeps its stock history and sends its assigned tech back to the shop.
