Jobs & Field Work

How a tech runs a stop in the field app

This is the order a technician works a visit on their phone, from pulling up to the pool to marking the job complete. Knowing the flow helps the office answer 'why won't it let me finish?' calls.

Where: Field app (technician's phone) -> today's route -> the stop

  1. The tech opens the day's route and taps the stop to open the job screen.
  2. They tap Start Job. The job opens and records arrival automatically; there is no separate Arrive button.
  3. They enter the water test readings (free chlorine, pH, alkalinity, and the rest of the panel you left visible for this job type).
  4. They log any chemicals dosed, picking from your chemical catalog with the amounts.
  5. They work through the service checklist and fill any forms attached to the job type.
  6. They add before/after photos, review the customer recap, and capture the customer's sign-off if you require one.
  7. They tap Complete. If a required form, checklist task, or close-out step is missing, the app blocks completion and names what's left.
Good to know
  • What the tech sees is driven by the job type: the checklist tasks, which forms appear, which fields show, and which close-out steps are required all come from your Job types, checklists & forms setup.
  • The same required-step gate runs on the server, so a job can't be forced complete through a shortcut even if the phone is offline and syncs later.
