Payments & Getting Paid
How homeowners pay you online
Once Stripe is connected, every invoice you send carries a pay link, and customers can also pay from the homeowner portal. The homeowner clicks the link, enters their card, and the money lands in your bank - the invoice marks itself paid.
Where: Any invoice -> Email button; or the homeowner portal
- Make sure Stripe is connected first (the "Get Paid Online" card on the Money tab shows "live").
- Open an invoice and click Email to send it to the customer. The email includes a pay link.
- The homeowner opens the email, clicks the link, and pays by card on a secure Stripe page.
- Customers with a portal login can also open the portal and pay any open balance there.
- When the card clears, the invoice moves to Paid on its own - you don't have to mark it.
Good to know
- Pay links ride along automatically on invoice emails, service reports, and the portal - there's no separate "add a pay link" step.
- If a customer says the pay link didn't work, confirm your Stripe connection still shows "live" on the Money tab.
- No card on hand? You can always record their cash or check payment yourself (see "Record a payment").
