Turn on automated customer messages

Automations send customers a message on their own - an estimate follow-up, a past-due reminder, or a review request - so you stop chasing them by hand. You control each one and the wording lives in Message templates.

Where: Manage (gear) -> Automations (and Manage -> Setup -> Message templates)

  1. Open Manage -> Automations. You'll see three toggles: Estimate follow-up, Past-due reminder, and Review request - all off by default.
  2. Flip on the ones you want. Each saves the moment you toggle it.
  3. Set the 'After N day(s)' number for each (e.g. follow up on estimates after 3 days, remind on past-due after 7).
  4. Open Manage -> Setup -> Message templates to edit the exact wording customers receive; merge tags like the customer's name auto-fill.
  5. Click Save templates.
  6. Use 'Run now' in the Automations window any time you want to process eligible customers immediately instead of waiting for the daily run.
Good to know
  • Automated TEXT messages only go out once your account's SMS is enabled - outbound texting sits behind a master switch plus carrier (A2P) review. Until that's on, turning an automation on won't send a text yet; the setting is saved and ready.
  • Each customer is messaged at most once per automation - no spam, even if you tap Run now repeatedly.
  • Where a customer has an email but SMS isn't available, transactional messages like a past-due reminder can fall back to email.
