Control what field techs can do (defaults and per-person overrides)

Field-app permissions decide what a tech can change out in the field - editing customers, deleting customers, editing the company name, editing their own name, and managing gate/access info. You set a company-wide default, then allow or block individuals as needed.

Where: Manage (gear icon) -> Setup -> Team ("Field-app permissions" section)

  1. Open Manage -> Setup -> Team and scroll to "Field-app permissions."
  2. The checkboxes there are the DEFAULT for every field worker. Most stay locked until you opt in; "Manage access info" is on by default so techs can fix a wrong gate code on the spot.
  3. Tick or untick a default to change it for all field workers at once.
  4. To change one person, click the Permissions button on their row in the table above.
  5. In that drawer, each ability shows three buttons: Default (follows the company setting), Allow, or Block. Pick Allow or Block to override just that person, then click Done.
Good to know
  • Per-person Allow/Block always wins over the company default, so you can keep the default tight and open things up for a trusted lead tech only.
  • "Manage access info (gate code)" being on by default is deliberate - it lets a tech correct a bad gate code without calling the office. Uncheck the default if you'd rather lock it.
